In Manden, in the Dinguiraye prefecture, the groundbreaking ceremony for a six-classroom secondary school (lycée-collège), designed to accommodate at least 500 students, took place in mid-September 2026, in the presence of local authorities and the people of Manden.

The new school will benefit in particular the children of Manden, Hérèmakono and Kansaba, who will be able to continue their schooling closer to home, in an environment conducive to learning.

This project reflects the long-standing commitment of Baba Hady Thiam, founder of Thiam & Associés, to education in Guinea through the Afric’Excellence Foundation, which has already funded the construction and equipping of several classrooms for the Elhadj Oumar Tall and Bowal schools, as well as for the village of Dinguiraye.

Firmly convinced that education is one of the country’s key drivers of development, Baba Hady Thiam thanks the local authorities, the people of Manden and everyone who came together around this project, as well as the teams of the Afric’Excellence Foundation who work daily to carry it forward.
