Gilles Kouamé is a licensed legal advisor in Côte d’Ivoire and Managing Partner of the Abidjan office of Thiam & Associés. He specializes in mergers and acquisitions and corporate tax, and has been acting for over fifteen years as a strategic advisor to national and international groups on complex transactions, legal restructurings, tax optimization projects, and regulatory compliance matters across Africa, particularly within the UEMOA region.

His expertise includes the legal and tax structuring of cross-border transactions, group reorganizations, as well as legal and tax due diligence in the context of investments, business growth, or corporate transformations.

He advises clients on their operations in highly regulated, economically strategic sectors such as mining, oil and energy, financial services, telecommunications and technology, and agribusiness, ensuring full compliance with applicable legal and tax frameworks, including OHADA law and UEMOA regulations.

Prior to joining Thiam & Associés, Gilles worked with the international firms PwC Tax & Legal and KPMG Côte d’Ivoire, where he developed a technical and strategic approach to tax and business law tailored to regional realities.

Gilles holds Master’s degree in Business Law and a postgraduate degree (DESS) in Taxation from the Félix Houphouët-Boigny University of Abidjan and is fluent in both French and English.
